Manicure Monday (Better late than never!)

Manicure Monday: (Better late than never!)

Hi beauties,

I'm getting up my "Manicure Monday" post a little late! Ooops! For this week, I chose to paint my nails using Sinful Colors' "Sugar Rush". It is from Sinful Colors' spring collection titled Sugar Rush which had 8 nail polishes total in the collection. Sugar rush is described as a powder blue, which I agree and disagree with. Yes, it is more of a powdery pastel blue, but to me it seems very muted which I love, and has a tinge of a grey undertone. I like to describe it as a rainy day blue. It really is gorgeous, and is an easy to apply cream shade. The best part is, that this nail polish only retails for $1.99! Total Bargain.

Did you get any polishes from this collection? I'd love to hear from you!

XOXO,
Erin

GET TO KNOW ME: Beauty Blogger Tag

Hi beauties,
While discovering a new blog [link here], I saw that there is a beauty blogger tag! Which obviously made me excited, since I am a beauty blogger and all. I wasn't tagged to do this, but I decided to tag myself and go ahead with the tag! It's a great way to get to know the person behind a blog. So here we go!!

1. Is your hair natural curly or straight?

I have naturally curly hair. When I was little, and even now when my hair is cut short, I have ringlet curls. Since my hair is so long and heavy now, it is more on the curly wavy side. I love having curly hair!

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon?

I haven't dyed my hair in a while, but when I do dye it, I do it at home. My mom usually helps to make sure that all my hair is completely covered.

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?

I love to change my style up, but I tend to stick to the neutral colors. I typically wear black and brown, with the occasional color thrown in the mix.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi or go to a salon?

Usually I do my own. I'm trying to save money, so I haven't been to the salon in quite some time. I do have to say though, that there is nothing more relaxing than going for a mani/pedi at a salon. Although I am super ticklish so I always end up trying to stifle some giggles while getting my pedicure.

   5. How often do you change your nail polish?

I usually change it up once or twice a week. It really just depends on how often I get bored with the color to be honest.

  6. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just in the summer?

I paint them in both the summer and winter. I think polished toe nails just make my feet look more feminine and pretty! Right now I have my toes painted with China Glaze's Turned Up Turquoise Neon!

7. How long does it take for you to put on your makeup?

My everyday routine for work can be done in 8-10 minutes depending on how much of a hurry I'm in. If I am doing my makeup for an event, it can take an hour or so!

8. What do you do first? Face or eyes?

ALWAYS the face. I tried to do the eyes first once, and it was so weird! I don't understand how people can do their eye makeup before their face makeup.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?

I have to admit that I collect makeup. Although I do use all my makeup, so it's not like it is sitting there collecting dust!

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?

I hardly ever wear false eyelashes because I cannot for the life of me learn to apply them. My mom always has to help me (she's a champ!) I've watched tutorial after tutorial to try and learn the process, but I just can't do it!

   11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?

No I don't. I sometimes will give my skin a break.

12. Do you wear makeup when your home alone, or with family?

I sometimes do wear makeup when I am home alone or with family, mainly because I actually enjoy the process of applying makeup. I am a creature of habit and I thrive in routines, so applying my makeup is just another routine that I enjoy doing most days.

13. Will you leave the house without makeup?

Yes I will leave home without makeup on. I don't apply makeup for other people, I apply it for myself and because I enjoy doing it. I will rock a total bare face out in public and could care less!

14. How many high-end products do you have?

I have a few high-end products, but I'm not sure how many. I think the term "high-end" is different to everyone. For some, MAC may be seen as high-end, while for others it may not be.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you are getting dressed?

I usually decide as I am getting dressed, which tends to lead to me leaving the house later than planned. I really should start planning out my OOTD the night before.

16. How often do you change your handbag?

I don't change my handbag very often. Most of my handbags are neutral, so they go with pretty much any outfit.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?

I don't have a set schedule as far as going to sleep, because I hardly ever am able to sleep through the night. I typically wake up at 5:30 AM Monday- Friday, and around 8 AM on the weekends. I usually try to be in bed around 10-11, even though I tend to toss and turn all night.

18. How often or when do you workout?

I don't work out nearly as much as I should. For me, the typical workout is just not fun. My kind of workout is usually taking my dog for a walk, or taking a Yoga or Zumba class.

19. Left handed or right handed?

Left handed. (Only 10% of the human population is left handed!)

20. How tall are you?

6'0! Tall girls run the world.

21. Do you speak any foreign language?

My mom speaks Spanish, so I can understand some of it, but I cannot actually speak any language other than English.

22. How many pets do you have?

4! I have a dog named Hemi Daisy, who is a greyhound-lab mix, an indoor cat named Willie Herbert, and a barn cat named Cookie. I also have a cat named Weedle Juliet, who lives with my sister.

23. How often are you on blogger?

I check blogger everyday!

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?

Yes! I love to see what other people think about products, and their opinions on different blog posts.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?

I typically have a list in my head, but I don't have it written down.

26. How did you come up with your Blog name?

It kind of came to me because I would always joke with my family about being a monster. I also tend to have my own unique style, so that is how MissStyleMonster was born!

27. What kind of camera do you use for your photographs?

I use a Pink Cannon Powershot

28. How often do you clean your house?

I am kind of a messy bessy. I clean my house about once a week, and my room every couple of weeks. I know, I know - BAD ERIN!

29. What's your favorite color?

I like Emerald Green  a lot. I also love pink and black.

30. Do you swear?

Honestly, yes I do sometimes. I'm trying to be more aware of it and stop saying swear words. I've gotten better over the past year or so though!

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day?

I'm going to work on my blog and upload a video to my YouTube channel!

I hope you guys enjoyed learning a little about me!

The One that got away: Little Mermaid Leggings Edition

Hi beauties,

I'm here with another edition of "The one that got away". I'm a huge fan of Hot Topic, as they carry a lot of items that fit my style. While having a little look on their website recently, I saw these BEAUTIFUL Little Mermaid Leggings. They had two different types, but I liked these the best. (The others were a black and purple color, with Ariel on one side, and Ursula on the other.) I know that these leggings might be a little "out there", but I think they are such a cool statement piece that would look great paired with combat boots and a denim button up. I should have scooped them up since they were on sale, but I waited too long and now they are gone completely from the website. [Insert sad pouty face here!]

What do you think of these type of statement leggings? Were you able to get your hands on a pair? How would you style them? I'd love to know!

Also- sorry about the crappy iphone photo, but its all I had since the leggings are gone from the site.

Talk to you soon!

Erin

March Empties: A little late

Hi beauties,

I hope you all are having a great week! Today I wanted to share my March empties with you. I know that I am a little late on this, but I wanted to share anyways. Empties videos and blog posts are some of my favorites to read/watch because you get to see what people actually use. Once someone uses up an entire product, they can really tell you how they honestly feel about something.

Here are my empties for the month of March:

Alberto VO5 Miracle Mist: I'm not sure if this product is even made anymore. I remember I got this back in highschool ( a loooooong time ago!) and I really loved it. This is the same bottle, so I probably shouldn't have kept it that long, but it still smelled nice and did great to protect my hair against flat iron damage, while making is silky and soft. If you ever see it at a discount store, it's definitely worth a second look.

Studio Tools Strengthening Nail Polish Remover with gelatin: I'll admit that I chose this nail polish remover because it was one of the cheaper options available, and I didn't have time to run to Sally's for a bottle of my pure acetone nail polish remover. This one did an okay job, and worked better with  a cotton ball than it did with a paper towel. It did not do a good job however, with removing both glitter polish and textured "sand" polishes. It just wouldn't even remove them at all. I probably wouldn't repurchase for that reason, along with the fact that I'm not keen on removers with gelatin in them.

Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation: I love love loved this foundation! It is hydrating, long lasting, and full coverage while still managing to feel light on the skin. This foundation is an all around winner, and I highly recommend that you give it a go!

L'Oreal Feria Shimmer Boosting Conditioner: Is it just me or do box hair dye kits always come with the best conditioner? While avoiding using my Redken All Soft Conditioner (YUCK!) I came across this conditioner lingering in my shower from when I dyed my hair black. It smells gorgeous, and makes your hair easy to brush through, and gives long lasting shine. What more could you want?

Wella Brilliance Conditioner: Another product I found in my shower while avoiding the dreaded All Soft. This conditioner smells amazing, and is for fine to normal hair. It didn't do much for me besides making my hair smell nice, because I have THICK curly hair that is color treated. I think that this would be great for people with thin hair like the bottle suggests.

Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Brown: I liked this eyeliner when I first got it, but after a few weeks the pencil got so dry that it ended up breaking into pieces. It comes in twist up packaging which is nice because you don't have to carry a sharpener, but for the price, I think there are better formulated and cheaper products on the market.

There you have it! My March Empties. I'm sure you'll be seeing an April Empties post soon, because I've been working hard on use up products this month as well!

Thanks for reading!

XOXO

CHEAP HOW TO: Pink Lips for Spring

Hi beauties,

I wanted to share my favorite lip combination for Spring with you! It is so beautiful and best of all it is using drugstore products!

Here is what you'll need:
NYX Long Lip Liner: Pinky
Revlon Lip Butter: Sweet tart

HOW TO:

-Outline your lips using Pinky lip liner
-Fill in lips using Pinky lip liner (this will lock in the color, and will leave a pretty long lasting stain for after lip butter has worn off.
-Apply Sweet tart lip butter (the lip butter acts as a balm, lip stick, and lip gloss in one)
-Enjoy your sassy bright pink lips!

If you'd like to see me doing the tutorial, you can watch it here, or on my youtube channel!

Thanks so much for reading!

Erin

Shopaholic Tag

Hi Beauties,
I wanted to do a blog post on the Shopaholic Tag that goes along with my video that I posted on YouTube. I know watching videos isn't everyone's cup of tea, so I wanted to write it out for you all too! I wasn't tagged by anyone, but it still seemed like a fun tag!

Questions:
1.) Would you consider yourself a shopaholic?

I don't think I would consider myself a shopaholic! (But one never admits addiction right?) I really like to shop, but I am trying to save money so to fulfill my shopping urges I like to go thrifting!
2.)How would you classify your style?

I would say that my style is eclectic. I tend to not follow trends and just wear what I like. My style has sometimes been described as bohemian by others.
3.) What store can you not leave without buying at least one thing from?

Goodwill or Target! Target's dollar section gets me every time because they are always filled with cheap Hello Kitty treasures, and I LOVE ME SOME Hello Kitty! ;) I also can't leave Goodwill without buying at least one thing. I am moving out on my own this summer so I have slowly been collecting vintage dishes and other homeware items for my apartment. I love searching for Pyrex and Anchor Hocking items!
4.) Where do you find the best deals?

I probably find the best deals online. I follow several couponing blogs and they are always posting online deals that they find, which are usually 75% + off MSRP! I also find some great deals on Target and Kohls clearance racks, and of course my beloved Goodwill!
5.) What designers are you willing to splurge on?

Betsey Johnson, and by splurge I mean "Still on sale". Her stuff is expensive, but totally up my alley!
6.) Do you have a go to shopping outfit?

As a giant, I really have to try items on to make sure that they fit or that pants are long enough. (Tall girl probz!) I usually will wear black leggings, a tank top, and a cardigan, with either flip flops or my pull on biker boots. Usually all black, because it's my favorite color to wear!
7.) What is your guilty pleasure? (Not including makeup?)

Shoes, and collecting charms for my Juicy Couture Charm bracelet!
8.) What is one staple item that you can't live without?

Definitely flats. I am a substitute teacher and am usually on my feet all day. Flats are the best shoe option for my job.
9.) What is one trend you hope never goes out of style?

LEGGINGS! As I mentioned, I'm really tall. It's basically impossible for me to find pants that are long enough. Leggings are so easy to style!
10.) What trend did you love that passed away too quickly?
I honestly don't follow many trends, so I'm not sure on this one.
11.) Who is your fashion icon?

Nicole Richie, Taylor Momsen, Mira Duma, Marion Cottiliard

Haircare: Products I Use

Hi beauties,

I wanted to share the hair products that I use. Obviously I don't use these all at once, but I have different hair products that I will use depending on what hair style I'm going for. Let's get started!

I'm not too picky as to what shampoo and conditioner that I use, and I tend to switch it up pretty often. I do suffer from a dry and itchy scalp, so I have to make sure the shampoo is moisturizing as well as the conditioner. I really really love Redken Scalp Relief shampoo, but I haven't been able to find it lately which is a bummer. Matrix Biolage Hydrotherapy is another great one as well. For a cheaper alternative I like the Herbal Essence Long Term Relationship shampoo and conditioner, which is available at the drug store.

I really like dry shampoo! (As I'm sure everyone does.) My favorite that I have tried is the Dove Dry Shampoo, because it smells good and adds a lot of volume. The Suave Waterless foam shampoo is a cure for really dirty hair, when you don't have time to shower. I'd say this would be great for camping, or a road trip, when you can't get to a shower, but really need to wash your hair. This foam does make your hair wet, so I wouldn't say this is the most practical product for frequent use, because I just don't know why I would choose this over just taking a shower since it is going to make my hair wet anyways.

As a girl with curly hair, I love sea salt sprays because it really adds texture and soothes fly-aways, so basically it just really enhances my curls, and makes me look like I've been laying poolside all day! (A girl can wish right?!) Not Your Mother's Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray is a really great product that I've seen being carried in the drug stores. It smells delicious and really does a great job of adding texture. One thing I will say about this, is that I find that I HAVE to wash my hair the day after using this product because it does create a lot of product buildup. The Malibu Heat Surf Spray Hair Mist is from Bath & Body Works, and smells AMAZING. Malibu Heat is probably my favorite scent from Bath & Body works, and I'm thinking that it has been discontinued. This surf spray does an excellent job adding texture, and enhancing curls, while the scent lingers in your hair all day. It's basically a win-win situation.

If I shower in the morning, and don't have time to wait for my hair to air dry, I reach for one of these two products. If it is going to be humid or rainy, I reach for the Garnier Fructise Curl Shaping Spray Gel it does make your hair a little on the "crunchy" side, but it really holds your curl all day and makes it resistant to humidity and frizz if it rains. Like all Garnier Fructise products, it smells really good and the scent lingers throughout the day. The Herbal Essence Body Envy Volumizing Mousse is really great, but it doesn't control frizz like the other. It really shapes your curls and has a great scent that also lingers, however if you use this on rainy days, the water will basically rinse the product right out of your hair.

Got2B Smooth Operator Smoothing Satin Drops are great for using after you straighten your hair to make sure that it is smooth and frizz free. I will admit that I used this more when I had my CHI straightener because it didn't always get my hair as smooth as I would like. My GHD straightener does a much better job at straightening while still helping my hair remain frizz free. So I don't use it quite as often, but I do still really like this product. You have to be careful with it though, because you only need the tiniest drop for all your hair. If you use a little too much product, it will make your hair greasy. The Garnier Fructis 5-in-1 Serum Spray is a really great product that is described as instant smoothing, luminous shine, tame flyaways, resist frizz, and fight humidity. This product does also contain argan oil. I find myself using this most when I get out of the shower and my hair is wet, because my hair tends to look greasy when I apply on dry hair. I'm not sure if VS still carries the So Sexy Instant Detangler but if they do, I would highly recommend that you try this product out. It smells amazing like the namesake scent, and really does a great job at detangling even the knottiest hair. The scent lingers throughout the day which is really nice as well.

I will admit that when it comes to hairspray, I tend to like higher end brands. I've just never really found a drugstore hairspray that I like. My two favorites are the Artec Kiwi Color Reflector Blaster Spray it does the best job at keeping your hair in place all day. I use this mostly when I curl my hair with my curling wand. It can make the curls have the "crunchy" feeling that happens with hairspray but to me it is worth it. When my hair was dyed red, this hairspray did an amazing job and making my hair shiny and the red shimmering in the light. I wasn't the biggest  fan of the smell at first, but I definitely think that it is an acquired smell. If you don't like the scent then I would steer clear of it, because the smell lasts for days! I quite like it now, but I know some people that don't. My next favorite hairspray is the Rusk W8less Plus hair spray which is an  extra strong hold but it is a shaping hairspray as well. It is a lighter hairspray and is easily brushable and shape-able. It has a very light scent, but it is really nice and clean smelling.

Those are the hair products that I am currently using. I hope you enjoyed this post and found it somewhat helpful if you are in the market for hair products. I'd love to know any recommendation for hair products!

Thanks for reading!
XOXO,
Erin

Skincare Routine

Hi beauties,

As promised, I am going to share my skincare routine with you. My skincare routine is really basic, and for the most part can be found at the drugstore. Also, my skin tends to be dry and dehydrated.

[I also want to note that I somehow lost the photo of the sunscreen that I wear, which is the Hawaiian Tropic moisturizing sunscreen. This product is something that I wear when I do not wear any other makeup. It is moisturizing and it does not break me out.]

The Simple Moisturizing facial wash is probably the best cleanser that I have found at the drugstore that does not strip my face further of moisture. I find that it calms down my skin if it is agitated due to allergies or a new makeup product. It is just an all around great cleanser, and is great for people like me who are on a budget.

This is something that you have probably seen mentioned on my blog before. I did receive this to try out from Influenster. It is basically a battery powered cleansing system. The bristles are rubber which is great both for sanitary reasons, and for really cleaning out your pores. I also like the Shine Shine Go Away cleanser, although it is geared more towards people with oily skin. I typically will use the cleanser once a week to remove anything extra.

This is really the only higher end product in my skincare routine. It is the Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil. I got this in a gift set around Christmas time, and it is a very multipurpose product. I put this on my skin at night when I get out of the shower and let it sink in over night. When I wake up in the morning my skin is so soft, moisturized, and glowing. This is a wonderful product, and I will definitely be buying a full size when this travel size runs out.

This is such a classic product with a cult following and it is something that I really love as well. Anytime my skin is having some hormonal (a.k.a- that time of the month) breakouts, I turn to this product and it has never let me down. It is a clay mask, and smells of yummy spearmint. I use this mask around once every week or two, and can really tell a different in the clarity of my skin. I also use this as a foot mask, and it is great for that as well!

That is my skincare routine! I'd love to know what you use for your skincare!

XOXO,
Erin

Products I Regret Buying #1

Hi Beauties,

*First of all I'd just like to say that I apologize for the quality of the second photo. It is rainy, dreary, and thunderstorm-y and it's basically impossible to take a photo with okay lighting. Thankfully, the photo is reasonable enough so that you are able to see the products. I even tried to edit it, and the colors just weren't fixable.*

I have never made a "Products I regret buying" post, and I have accumulated a few products that I do indeed regret buying, so I thought that now is a great time to share!

MAC Face & Body Foundation: It kind of pains me to have to add this to the list because it is a lovely foundation, however I do regret buying it! I have this foundation in the shade C1 which is the closest color match to my skin tone that I have ever found in MAC. This foundation has no SPF and looks beautiful in High-Definition and is perfect to wear during photoshoots or events where you will have your photo taken a lot. It looks so natural and is light yet has the ability to be layered up and is a buildable coverage. The reason that I regret buying it is because it has the reputation to go "off" quite quickly. The bottle says it is to be kept for 24 months, but I have read that it tends to never last that long. You get a lot of product in the bottle, and you only need a tiny amount. You would never be able to finish the bottle before it expires. Personally, my bottle went off right around the 24 month mark, and developed a putrid gag inducing smell that is unbearable. Wearing it at least 4 times a week for nearly 2 years, I was only able to use a little over half of the bottle. To me it just seems that there should be a small version available for those of us who are using it on ourselves rather than clients as makeup artists would, because a lot of the product ends up getting wasted.

Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation: I really, really, REALLY dislike this foundation, which some people find surprising since the general consensus on YouTube is that its a great and sometimes HOLY GRAIL deemed foundation. I personally do not see the hype. Sure for the first hour or two the foundation does look beautiful and airbrushed as advertised. After that one to two hour mark however, this foundation gets extremely patchy, and not the kind of patchy where it is hardly noticeable, I'm talking the kind of patchy that is extremely noticeable to the point where people either think I've been splatter painting my face with foundation, or that I have a skin condition. It also oxidizes like nothing I have ever seen before. It turns not the usual orange tint we think of when thinking about when foundations oxidize, but this foundation turns a true orange hue. It is just bad. It may be holy grail for some people, but for me, that just isn't the case.

Covergirl Nature Luxe Foundation: I found this line of foundations to have shades with a predominately pink undertone, which just doesn't work for me. No amount of powder would be able to color correct the pink base in this foundation for me. It also has a noticeable fragrance, which just sent my skin over the edge. Thanks to this foundation, I got to experience cystic acne for the first time in my life. I got a cystic spot right on the side of my nose near the tear duct side of my eye, and it was large to the point where people thought I had gotten punched because of how swollen it was. It was just a horrible experience for me.

Phyto Botanical Straightening Balm: I'm not sure what I was thinking with this one. I was "sold" on this product when it promised to transform unruly curly frizzy hair to straight hair without the straightener. Boy was I UNDERWHELMED. I combed this through my hair as the bottle suggests, and then slept on it overnight as per usual. The next day my hair had the feeling of a extremely waxy coating and my scalp was very itchy. I saw Essie Button mention this in either her favorites video or a product empties video and she loved it, so I'm not sure if I am using it wrong or what, but I am open to any and all suggestions on this.

Olay Cream Hair Removal Duo System: Whether we want to admit it or not, us females do have hair on our face. It could be baby hairs, peach fuzz, hair on the lip, or chin, but typically it's just one of those things that we have to deal with. I tried this product after seeing the commercial and advertisements. It is a nice product and does its job, but it is pretty expensive compared to other similar products on the market. I prefer the Sally Hansen cream hair remover as it does the same job, and you get more product for a cheaper price.

It's a 10 Miracle Leave in Product: I've mentioned this before, and it is an okay product, but I  don't feel like the amount of change you see in your hair justifies the 20$ price tag. I'd classify this product as "over-hyped", it just doesn't do much for my hair.

Back To Basics Green Tea Finish Spray: The reason that I'm including this is because I regret using it due to the packaging. I love when Ulta has crazy sales on higher end hair sprays because that is usually when I stock up on my favorites. I saw that this was included in the sale and it was the last one left so I thought I would give it a try. It smelled good and had shea butter, green tea, and witch hazel in it, so it sounded right up my alley. The one time I don't check the spray nozzle in the store is the one time I buy a hairspray with a broken  spray nozzle. I'm not sure if this is true with all Ulta's, but at my nearest Ulta, during these huge sales, it is "final sale" meaning it cannot be exchanged or returned. Hence why I am stuck with a hairspray that I cannot use. Does anyone know how I can fix it? The nozzle isn't clogged, it just is completely broken!

CVS Brand Cocoa Butter gel body oil: I've read on blogs and watched reviews on YouTube where people say how great of a multipurpose product this is. It is supposed to moisturize even the driest skin and make your skin look glowing. I was all over that like a bee to honey! I have dry skin and found this to be not at all moisturizing. This just sat on the top of my skin and didn't even sink in overnight. There was a greasy feeling residue that just wasn't pleasant. (Probably because its first ingredient is mineral oil!)

There we have it! My products that I regret buying!!! I'd love to hear of products that you think I should steer clear of!

XOXO,
Erin

Before & After: Rimmel London BB Cream Edition

Hi beauties,

Here is the before and after shots of my skin with and without the Rimmel BB Cream. I'm going to be doing a drugstore BB cream post, as soon as I feel like I've worn them all enough times to give my true opinion of each one. So far the standout is Rimmel London's BB Cream. It is more of a neutral color which is great because I feel like a lot of times drugstore BB creams can pull a little orange on my skin tone which makes it very obvious that I have on makeup.

What I am wearing in the photo:
-Garnier Nutritioniste Anti-Sun Damage lotion
-Rimmel London BB Cream in Light
-Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in SunLight
-MAC Prom Princess Blush
-MAC Let's Skate Paint Pot
-Revlon Age Defying Concealer
-Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer
-MAC Remotely Gray Eyeshadow
-Jordana Fabuliner in Brown
-VS Mascara
-Baby Lips Cherry Me

Erin

NEW Obsession: Homemade fruit smoothies

Hi beauties,

With it being spring (and me realizing that summer a.k.a bikini season is just around the corner), I've been opting for a lighter (yet still filling) breakfast. I love spring because that's when the fresh fruit is beginning to be in season, which means the price drops! (hehe) I love making smoothies, and lately I have been on a complete smoothie kick! Probably one of the best purchases that I've EVER made was the Bella single serve blender. I got mine from SAM's Club, but have seen them at Target, and Walmart as well. If I remember correctly, I believe that this was around $19.99, which is a complete bargain. It is very good quality as well. I've had it for several years now, and it still works perfectly. Before I got this single serve blender, I would always buy smoothies from fast food restaurants because it was so much less of a hassle than getting out the big blender and making the smoothie and then cleaning up the mess. Those smoothies were so unhealthy and weren't even made from real fruit. Not only are the smoothies I make at home made with all real fruit, but the Bella blender is an absolute breeze to cleanup.

I thought that I would share with you my current favorite smoothie of choice!

Let's get started!

For my smoothie I like to put fresh strawberries and a banana. I also like to add this delicious frozen "Triple Berry Blend" of frozen fruit that I got at SAM's club. This particular frozen fruit mix has raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries!

I chop up the banana into really small pieces so most of it will fit, and then do the same with the strawberries. (What wont fit, and is leftover, I just eat! Yum!)

This is a bonus add in that is completely optional! (I just really like it!) I add in 2 scoops of the Vi-Shape Nutritional Shake mix. There are 12g of Protein and 5g of fiber per 2 scoops of this along with a TON of vitamins and minerals, which is why I add it in. I'm a vegetarian, and I sometimes find it hard to get all the protein that I need! It is also Lactose free which is great for someone with Lactose intolerance issues!

I also add in the not pictured 8 oz of water. (You can totally add 8 oz of milk, but I'm lactose intolerant!). I add in 3-4 ice cubes as well.

Such a beautiful shade of pink! Here is my smoothie being mixed up in my single serve Bella Blender!

Here is the final result! Another great thing about this blender is that you can drink straight from the cup that it gets mixed in, which helps cut the time of cleanup as well!

This smoothie is SO delicious and is nutritious as well! It is also really filling, and gives you energy to jump start your day!

Do you like making smoothies? What are your favorite ingredients? I'd love to know!

XOXO,
Erin
