A little about me...

I figured it might be good to make a little "about me" intro post, since I'm new to the world of beauty and fashion blogging..so, here we go! Fingers crossed this doesn't accidentally turn into a match.com ad. ;)

My name is Erin, and I'm an (almost) 22 year old college senior studying communications! I hope to be a sports broadcaster one day, specifically for hockey. I'm an insanely huge hockey fan! :)

I also work in the modeling industry as a fashion and runway model! (I'm six foot tall!-but still love rocking the heels!)

I'm a vegetarian, amateur veggie gardener, thrifting enthusiast! I'm from a VERY small town in Kentucky, and a lot of people don't share my love for fashion and beauty products! I love to write, so I decided that making a blog would give me a much needed creative outlet, in which I could share my passions!

I'll include some random pictures! :)

[A night out with friends. Wasn't sure if they'd be weirded out by being on my blog, so I cropped them out. :(]

Kiehl's goodies

I had always wanted to try out some Kiehl's products after hearing great things about them. Plus, they are all natural which is FAB! I had never actually took the plunge and purchased anything, but I knew when I saw the limited edition packaging of the Rare Earth Deep pore cleansing masque that was designed by Florence from Florence & the Machine that I knew I HAD to place an order.

I also picked up the Kiehl's lip balm in just the original version. I really like both products. The masque is so great, and this tub will last me FOREVER! It has a grey runny consistency, but it dries nicely on your face, and once you wash it off, your skin feels amazing and soft, and super clean! I love Kiehl's products so far, and can't wait to try out more of their line.

Any recommendations?

Hair: currently using.

I cut my hair! 6 inches gone, and it is still pretty long. I'll include a photo of my new hair at the bottom of this post. I thought it would be appropriate to write a post on the current hair products that I am using. I can't wait to finish them up so I can try new products.

[L-R] It's a 10 Miracle leave in product, Pantene Pro V Smooth and Shine anti-frizz serum, Pantene Pro V Restore Beautiful lengths replenishing masque, Got 2B Smooth Operator smoothing satin drops, Got 2B Crazy Sleek hot smooth Flat Iron & Blow Dry Lotion, John Frieda Root Awakening strength restoring shampoo, John Frieda Root Awakening strength restoring conditioner, Redken All Soft Shampoo, Redken All Soft Conditioner.

Redken All Soft Shampoo and Conditioner. I've heard MILLIONS of good things about it from the beauty blogging community, so when I saw that Ulta had these liters for only $14 each I snapped them up. They have argon oil in them (so that's a plus) and they smell pretty good too! I am not 100% sold on this line, because I feel like it doesn't really make my hair soft. (which is what it's supposed to do, right?! :)) I like both of them alright, but I don't think I would repurchase. (I much prefer the Redken Scalp relief line!)

Can I just scream it from the rooftops that I LOVE LOVE LOVEEEEE the John Frieda root awakening range? It is seriously fantastic. I suffer from a dry and moody scalp, and this helps it so much! The shampoo and conditioner have eucalyptus in them, and are wonderful! (The shampoo smells heavenly, and the conditioner smells a bit "natural" and to be quite honest kind of "off". I may have gotten a bad bottle, but it does condition nicely.) I will definitely repurchase this, and I want to try some other products from the range. - I think there is a leave in conditioner?

Got2b products can be found at Ulta. (At least where I live!) I typically just wear my hair in it's naturally waves, but if I take the time to actually properly curl or straighten it, then I use these products. The Crazy Sleek is a blow drier or straightener lotion that I put on before I use heat. The smooth operator is used after to make my hair smooth and shiny. :)

I tried this on a whim, when looking for a hair masque, and I really enjoyed the smell of this one. It isn't the most conditioning hair masque that I've tried, but the scent was nice and it temporarily made my ends less straw like. I think they may be phasing out the Beautiful lengths line (or at least this hair masque) because my local target, meijer, and walmart has stopped carrying it! I am really wanting to try the Macadamia nut hair masque.

Do they even make this anymore? Should I throw it out? (Probably) but I CAN'T. I just love it so much, and a little goes a long way. I put one pump of this into my hair when it's wet after I get out of the shower and before I brush it out. It smells yummy, and really smooths out my hair and adds shine. I just LOVE IT!

I'm sure everyone knows what this is. As it's been talked about tons on beauty blogs, the infamous It's a 10 miracle leave-in product. To be honest, I bought this because of the hype surrounding it. I don't think it has miraculously helped my hair in any way. It really helps to detangle my hair. (I use about 3 pumps on wet hair.) For the price, I probably wouldn't repurchase, since I haven't seen a ton of results.

Any recommendations? After I finish my shampoo, I am lusting over the Pureology shampoo!

By the way: Here is my new hair! :) It was straightened so it looks a little longer, but it is still pretty long. Even after 6 inches were cut off. (The sun was in my eyes, hence the half closed eyes! haha)

BB cream bandwagon?

Recently, on an impulsive trip to CVS, I picked up the new(ish?) Garnier Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfecter BB cream in light medium. (that was a mouthful!) As a long time MAC studio fix fluid user, I thought it was time to give myself (and my skin) a much deserved break. I have been wearing this BB cream for the past two weeks and absolutely love it. I have really dry skin, and this product works great and I haven't had any sort of reaction to it so far. Could this product replace my beloved Studio fix fluid? The jury is still out! ;)

Here is my skin wearing only Garnier BB cream as my foundation!

I would definitely give it a try if you haven't already!

Goodies from last week. As seen through instagram/my phone!!

I am obsessed with Instagram. (although a little bummed that Facebook purchased it!)

Also- this is my first blog post from my phone! Yay!

Okay, now on to the pictures!

(Top- bottom) First time trying Kiehl's Lip Balm!, Menchies Fro-Yo, Katy Perry for Eylure lashes, American Apparel nail polishes!(Online the AA glitter polish looked really similar to OPI's Rainbow connection which I cannot get my hands on. In person, the two look really different, and I'm not loving this glitter polish!))

Thrifting

I found this beauty at a thrift shop! It is circa 1930's and I am in love! My only problem is that I can't figure out what fabric to have it reupholstered in. I researched and found out that most pieces of furniture in that time period was done in a floral brocade, but I just can't decide. Any suggestions? :)

7 deadly sins of beauty tag!

1.GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?
My most inexpensive beauty item would probably be my lip balm (not pictured) It's the Baby Lips by Maybelline, and it smells like peach. So yummy. My most expensive is probably my Urban Decay Naked Palette, which I think was around $50.00 (USD)

2.WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?
I have a love/hate relationship with MAC Studio Fix Fluid. Sometimes I love it, and sometimes I absolutely hate it. Primarily because I don't think that the color is a perfect match for me. I have it in NC 20, (I've also tried a MAC foundation in NW 20- which also didn't suit my skin tone properly.) If NC 20 and NW 20 had a baby, it would be my perfect shade. Anywho, back to the point- I love Studio fix fluid because it is such a full flawless foundation, but I find that it is hard to work with, and dries very fast so it's hard to blend. It stays put ALL day, so I make it work.
The product that has been the hardest to get was my Urban Decay Naked palette, I literally stalked the ULTA website for weeks, until it came back in stock. It was worth the wait though, I absolutely adore it, and am contemplating getting the Naked2 palette! (Does anyone have it? It is worth it?)

3.GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?
Delicious? I'd say my vaseline cocoa butter lotion (lame- I know!), but it smells so delicious, and makes my skin feel soft and incredible, plus it is super cheap!

4.SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect, due to laziness?
It would be my MAC fluidlines. I love them! I have blacktrack, and dip down (I think is the name- it's a creamy chocolate brown). They stay put, and are worth every penny! Plus they can be use as bases for a smokey eye shadow look. The only problem is that you have to have a little extra time to apply, because you have to use a brush, which is why I have been opting for my Urban Decay 24/7 liners instead.

5.PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most self confidence?
I think it would be a highlighter. I have dry/dull skin, and it makes me really self-conscious. I love to make my makeup look as glowy and dewy as possible, and love to highlight. My favorites at the moment are Dior Amber diamonds (SWOOOON- LITERALLY IN LOVE!) and Benefit high beam. I also like to layer the two!

6.LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?
Well, his ability to act in a gentlemen like manner is very attractive to me. I also like a guy who can make me laugh, and who is tall. (I'm six foot tall- so I'd like a guy taller than me!)

7.ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?
This was a difficult question for me. I'd love to try out some LORAC, Laura Mercier, Laura Geller, or Cargo products. I've also seen some heavenly looking Dior blushes, and I'd love to try out Chanel bronze universal or a YSL Lipstick. Oh, or the Macadamia Oil hair masque that I've seen on millions of beauty blogs. :)
